4th of July weekend and 4 weeks old

4th of July Weekend

We had a pretty mellow 4th of July weekend. Normally we go camping or to Vegas, but with the new baby, we decided to just stay home. So, Dominic bought some fireworks for us to do on Friday. Jacoby has never really seen fireworks before so it was a new adventure for him. He didn't like the first 2 that Dominic lit, but after that, he loved them. After we lit off a few fireworks, we ventured next door to our neighbor's house and sat on his patio and watched the USU fireworks. Jacoby gave us a running commentary of all of the colors and we were far enough away that he wasn't scared by the booms. It was a good way to break him in because we went to the Wilson's on Saturday and he watched a professional firework show up close. Riley was being a grumpy little turd that night, so I stayed in with him while Dom took Jacoby outside with everybody else and they sat around the fire and watched the fireworks. We had a ton of fun with everybody at the Wilson's but we unfortunately didn't take any pictures while we were there.

This is the reaction we got after the first firework.

On Sunday, the 4th, we went to Brady and McKensy's little girl's baby blessing. Addison is 3 weeks older than Riley and she is adorable!

We took this picture after the blessing. Cute cousins!

After the baby blessing, we had Nate, Michelle and Porter come over and we had dinner and lit the rest of the fireworks. The kids had a blast and I love that Porter and Jacoby are such good friends.

4 Weeks Old

Today my baby is 4 weeks old. In some ways, it's gone by so fast, and in others, it seems like it's been longer than 4 weeks. He is a big baby and is weighing in at 11 lbs. 2 oz as of yesterday. He is starting to give us social smiles and is beginning to get interested in the world around him. He is very alert when he's awake and seems older than he is. Jacoby just adores him and will get right up in his face and say "What doin' baby Riley?". He likes to try and help and one of his favorites is to burp Riley. We just have to remind him to be soft.

My cute baby boys.

He is starting to get interested in toys. He really likes this chair and the animals that hang from it.

Happy Jacoby.

Sweet baby boy after the bath. He's losing his hair already, dangit.
