Oh, my son....

Dominic's dad flew into town to go fishing with Dominic for his birthday. On our way to SLC to the airport, I was sitting in the back seat with Jacoby. He was being a goof and was licking his car seat. I don't know why, but he would turn his head and lick and try to suck on the side of his car seat. The faces that he was pulling were hilarious! I am so glad that I had my camera with me.

Bobbi's Wedding

On June 28, Dominic's sister Bobbi got married to the love of her life, Mattie! Being the smart ones that we are, Dom and I forgot our camera. So, I stole some pictures off of Josh and Jess's MySpace pages (thanks guys!). It was a beautiful wedding and Bobbi looked so pretty.

Dominic and I had to leave early, we had an extremely tired little boy to take care of. He hadn't napped well that day and he was up late the night before at pre-wedding dinner at Matt's parents house. Here is a cute picture of him in the swing that night. Isn't he a doll?

Momma Allen's Birthday

It was my mom's birthday on July 28, so we headed out to her house to have cake and ice cream with her and 2 of my brothers and their wives. I realized that I don't have many pictures of my mom and Jacoby, or of my side of the family in general. I made sure to remember our camera so I could get some pictures.






The picture above is my brother Brett and his wife Jessica. Brett was making Jacoby laugh and it was so cute! Brett and Jessica are going to have a baby. Jacoby won't be the only brown baby on the Allen side of the family! :)



Brady and his wife McKensy. We love these two! We hang out with them as much as we can, but it never seems to be enough. They are so much fun!

Jacoby's first camping trip!

On July 11, we took Jacoby on his very first camping trip. We went to Franklin Basin with Dom's cousin Josh and his wife Jess, Jess's sister Jackie and her family, Dom's friend Bob and his kids, our friends Nate and Michelle, and my brother Brady and his wife McKensy. It is an annual trip that we take for Josh's birthday, so of course the boys stayed up half the night and tied one on.




Jacoby did fantastic! He wasn't fussy and he slept great. Dominic bought Jacoby his own sleeping bag at Christmas time and we put it to use. It kept him plenty warm and he actually slept through the night without a peep. He loved the outdoors and he thought the river was great! It was way too cold to let him get wet, but he liked the sight and sounds of the river. It won't be long before Dominic has him fishing!

4th of July

Dominic decided that it would be fun to go to Las Vegas over the 4th of July weekend. I can tell you that Vegas is WAY too hot to be visiting in July. But, we braved the heat and headed down so Grandma could have some time with Jacoby.





To keep cool, we spent a lot of time in the pool. Dominic bought Jacoby a baby floaty with a shade to protect him from the sun. Jacoby loved it! He was so relaxed that we couldn't even get him to smile.



All in all, it was a great weekend! Even if it was just too hot!

Hiking

Dominic's mom and dad bought us this really cool backpack for Jacoby for our birthdays (Dom and I have birthdays that are only 3 days apart). The weather finally warmed up enough that we could take Jacoby out in it and go hiking. We drove up Franklin Basin with the dogs and off we went!

Dom and I took turns carry the pack, and Jacoby thought it was great fun. If we exaggerated our steps while we were walking, he would giggle and laugh. We had such a long cold spring, that it finally felt great to get out in the mountains and get some excercise.







The dogs hadn't been able to get out and run for quite a while, so they were in heaven! Abby found snow, which is one of her favorite things. She was belly flopping and sliding all over the place. Tug found some marshy waters that he used to cool off in and get a drink.

Sleeping baby

Both Dom and I have a weakness for holding Jacoby when he's sleeping. He very rarely will fall asleep on his belly and it's even rarer that he'll fall asleep on one of us. So, Dom was in heaven when Jacoby fell asleep on him. I just had to get the camera out, it was just too cute.
