Pretty Quiet

It's been pretty quiet around our house for the last couple of weeks. We went to Vegas for Mothers Day and to celebrate mine and Dominic's birthday's. However, the morning we were supposed to leave, Jacoby came into our room heaving/vomiting at 6 am. He kept it up for most of the morning, but we decided to go anyways because most flu's last just 12-24 hours. Not this one. We should have just stayed home. Whatever Jacoby had, it was nasty. He refused to eat, but we were able to get him to drink water and he would throw that up every now and then. All he wanted to do was sleep, but after 16 hours of him sleeping, I got worried. So, I called our Dr. on call back home and he told me to take him in somewhere because he could have an electrolyte imbalance. Lovely. We managed to get a little bit of food and Gatorade in him, so he perked up a little bit so we didn't have to take him in. Meanwhile, he managed to pass on this sickness to pretty much everybody except me. Poor Riley got really sick and Grandpa got it really bad too. Both kids were sick for about 9 days total. Jacoby missed a week of school. It was awful! So, needless to say, there hasn't been much going on with us other than recovering.

This was about the only picture we took in Vegas. This is poor Jacoby asleep in the recliner - which is something he never does. His face is covered by burp cloths. They are still his "security blanket", and he likes them over his face when he's sleeping.

I needed to get some cleaning done one day, so I put in a movie for the kids. Riley is becoming interested in the TV and I laid both kids on the love sack to watch. They are so cute.

Good Morning Riley!

Daddy gave Riley a Grandma's Oatmeal Cookie. He loved them!

Yum!

Here's a picture of Jacoby in his most awesome PJ's! Grandma bought these for him and they make him look so long and skinny.

Another shot of the PJ's and mom's white legs!

Happy Riley!

More Pictures

We've taken a lot of pictures in the last couple of weeks. So, here's another blog post! Just keep reading, because this is the 3rd post in 2 days.

Riley in the bath is so cute! He's really going to be embarrassed when he gets older because I have so many naked bath time pictures. He loves the bath and is so fun to watch and snap pictures.

I finally figured out how to make a collage. I think I'm getting more and more computer illiterate as I age.

A couple of weeks ago, we met Bobbi in Roy and went bowling. Jacoby loves to bowl and it was good to get out and see Bobbi!

This picture is blurry, but it's still cute. Riley is so happy!

Mom and Riley. I really need to break the habit of putting my glasses on top of my head.

Riley sleeps in some of the weirdest positions. Dominic snapped this picture after checking on him.

We went to the park one evening because Jacoby was bored. It's still cold outside, but we've all got Spring Fever so bad that we just bundled up and went. Jacoby was having a blast swinging.

Riley wouldn't crack a smile on the swings.

I gave Riley the core of a pineapple to chew on. He loved it!

His new trick! So Big!

On Saturday, they had a fund raiser for the girl scouts at our local Fair Grounds. It was called "Touch a Truck" and they had all sorts of trucks parked there that the kids could get in and play with. They had a police car, fire truck, garbage truck, semi, monster truck, and lots more. Jacoby thought it was pretty cool. He loved the fire truck! The fireman there gave him a sticker of a fireman's badge and let him play with the buttons and stuff. However both kids were grumpy, and it was really windy and cold, so we didn't stay long.

This is the Sheriff's car that was there. It was a yellow sports car of some sort and they only use it in parades. None of the kids there wanted much to do with it because it just didn't look like a cop car. Jacoby sat in it for a minute, but he really wanted to go see the fire truck.

This is Jacoby in the semi truck. He calls semi's "moving trucks" because of the moving truck in Toy Story. Silly kid.

This is in the fire truck. He liked this one the best.

Easter

I know I'm late posting about Easter, but what do you expect? It's me. My blog is either feast or famine (okay, mostly famine), but I will get around to posting eventually. I probably would have posted about Easter a little sooner, but poor Riley has been sick all week. It's been a long week with not a lot of sleep. Anyways, back to the topic at hand. Easter!

This year for Easter, we had Grandma and Grandpa Speer come up from Vegas to see the kids, and Bobbi and Mattie came up from Salt Lake. On Saturday, I took Jacoby to the mall to an Easter Egg hunt, but it wasn't much of a "hunt". They just threw eggs and candy onto the floor and let the kids go nuts, but I guess that's what I get for going to the mall. Jacoby was so excited to go get the eggs, but I don't think he quite grasped the concept of what he was supposed to do. Once they said "go", he ran in with his basket on his arm and grabbed one egg. He turned and held it up for me to see and then ran around the circle of kids and threw his one and only egg at some random kid and it was over. No candy, nothing. It was progress though. Last year, all he did was scream and cry. I did snap a few pictures of it on my phone, but the lighting was really bad and they didn't really turn out.

Easter Morning! Riley's fever started in the middle of the night and so I was up most of the night with him. So, Easter morning was a little unorganized. Jacoby came into our room to wake us up and so we hurried and grabbed his basket for him to open. Riley couldn't have cared less, although we did make one for him too.

Easter morning. Jacoby found his Easter basket.

Look at the cool Easter Eggs that Grandma brought!

Playing with his new Rex toy.

Even though the poor kid was super hot with a fever, he was happy and pulling faces with Grandma!

Haha! Jacoby liked kissing grandpa's belly.

After everybody had breakfast, the boys went outside and hid eggs and candy for Jacoby to have another Easter Egg hunt. We should have done that before I tried to take him to one in public. He figured it out very quickly with the help of Grandpa.

He had to stop and eat some of his candy.

All done. Time to gorge.

2 of my handsome men showing off the spoils of the hunt.

Cute Riley with Grandpa.

Bobbi thought that she would give Riley a taste of her sucker.

Riley wasn't happy with just a taste.

It's mine now!

The girls! The sun was in our eyes so we're all a bit squinty.

Jacoby loves to go in the shed and sit on the 4 wheelers. On Easter, he had to go eat his candy on the 4 wheelers. Silly boy.

Our Week in Pictures

Last weekend, we had Brady, McKensy and cute little Addison come over for a movie night. We didn't really watch a movie, but it was nice to get together and let the kids play.

Addison is almost a month older than Riley. I think that he is twice her size though...

Cute Cousins!

Riley had just learned to pull himself into a standing position that day (April 1). Addison has been doing it for a while now, so she was showing him all the fun new toys he could play with now that he could stand.

Here is a picture of Riley and his new skill.

Last Saturday, Dominic went fishing and caught a monster. It was over 25 inches long. He wanted to have Jacoby hold it and take a picture, but Jacoby wasn't having anything to do with it (big surprise there). So, Dominic tried to just hold the fish and snap a picture of Jacoby at the same time.

Apparently, Jacoby doesn't like fish.

And here is a picture of my cute kids waking me up in the morning. The best alarm clock anybody could ask for!

When Riley wakes up from his morning nap, Jacoby lays down on his bed and asks for Riley. So, I lay him down next to Jacoby and they kick, giggle, and play. It is so cute.

Riley's new face. His "O" face.

Dad bought Jacoby a new goggles for the 4-wheeler. Jacoby was trying them on for us.
