Christmas Party

On Sunday, we drove to Soda Springs, Idaho to see our friends, the Christensen's (Jason, Michelle, Abigail and Madison) and the Bassets (Bruce and Sharlyn) for our annual Christmas get-together. Unfortunately, I didn't take very many pictures. I snapped a couple of Abby reading to Jacoby. Madison had already gone down for a nap by then. I didn't get any pictures of Madi, and I really wish that I would have. I guess that we'll just have to go see them again soon so I can get a few of her!

Bruce picked Jacoby up for a minute and he must have been really warm and snuggly, because Jacoby fell asleep! He hasn't fallen asleep while being held by anybody in a really long time! Poor Bruce, he just wanted to hold him for a minute and got stuck with a sleeping baby for an hour! It's good practice for him for when he becomes a grandpa!

SNOW!

Dominic was so excited for snow. He bought Jacoby a snow suit and we bought him a sled for Christmas. Dominic couldn't wait for Christmas to get the sled out, since we got so much snow today. So, we bundled Jacoby up like the kid from a Christmas Story and headed out to play.

"I can't put my arms down!"

Jacoby actually had a lot of fun being pulled around the yard in his sled. The only time that he didn't like it was when he would turn into the wind and the snow would blow back in his face. He didn't cry though, he just scrunched up his face and closed his eyes. Dominic would run with him and he would laugh! Too cute. He's going to love the snow, I can tell already.

Playing with the Camera

Dominic was goofing off with the camera and figured out that we can take black and white pictures. We've only had that camera for 2 years now, but hey, at least we finally figured it out! We only took one in black and white, and then just snapped a few more. It was almost bed time and Jacoby was playing and winding down for the day. Enjoy!

He refused to smile. I think we put him to bed right after I snapped this. He was done.

Camo Baby!

We finally decided that we need to start putting shoes on Jacoby. The only shoes that we had for him didn't fit very well or were really stiff and clunky. So, we bought him a pair of crocs! Camo crocs to be exact. So, I dressed him all up in his camo and put his shoes on to see how he'd do with them around the house. He did pretty good with them, but he kept looking down at his feet. Maybe he was just trying to figure them out.

Monte and Cyn's New Addition!

Monte and Cyn got a new puppy! She is a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix and she is adorable. They named her Purdie and I think that the name definitely fits! She was 7 weeks old when we saw them for Thanksgiving and she was a handful.

I had to get a picture of this, Jacoby climbed in Purdie's bed!

Disastrous Bath Time!

A while ago, Dominic bought Jacoby a swimsuit that had pads in it to help him float and learn how to swim. We brought that with us to Vegas for Thanksgiving and decided to try it out in Grandma's big bath tub. We filled the tub and Dominic climbed in. Grandma put Jacoby in and thought that he would float like a cork with his head up. Alas, he went face first in the water and FREAKED! He hated the water from that moment forward and clung to Dominic like his life depended on it. He wouldn't let go and cried at the top of his lungs. We gave up after a couple of minutes and got him out. When Grandma tried to give him a bath the next day, he panicked again. She ended up bathing him in the kitchen sink, but he didn't like that much better. Poor kid. Thankfully, his fear of water didn't come home to our bath tub. He still loves his bath time at home.

Showing off his new suit with Dad before we put him in the tub.

Poor little guy, doesn't that fac just break your heart?

After we got him out and dried off, he was fine.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We went to Las Vegas to visit Grandma and Grandpa Speer and Uncle Monte and Aunt Cinny for Thanksgiving this year. We had a few minor mishaps (Abby lost a toenail, blood everywhere!), but it was a great weekend! Everybody was so excited to see Jacoby and he was so good all weekend. He kept everybody on their toes trying to keep up with him! He actually slept through Thanksgiving dinner, so he got leftover mashed potatoes and turkey for dinner. He loves mashed potatoes!

My son is an early riser! He woke up about quarter to 6 every morning and Mema loved playing with him in the early morning. Mema and Poppy loved bathing him and feeding him and spending as much time as they could with him before we had to go back home. Thanks everybody for a great weekend!

Jacoby was being a ham for Aunt Cinny!

Enjoying the early moring hours with Grandma!

Dinner time!

Jacoby was being a goof and having fun with Grandma and Grandpa as they tried to feed him.
