Monte and Cyn's New Addition!

Monte and Cyn got a new puppy! She is a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix and she is adorable. They named her Purdie and I think that the name definitely fits! She was 7 weeks old when we saw them for Thanksgiving and she was a handful.

I had to get a picture of this, Jacoby climbed in Purdie's bed!

Disastrous Bath Time!

A while ago, Dominic bought Jacoby a swimsuit that had pads in it to help him float and learn how to swim. We brought that with us to Vegas for Thanksgiving and decided to try it out in Grandma's big bath tub. We filled the tub and Dominic climbed in. Grandma put Jacoby in and thought that he would float like a cork with his head up. Alas, he went face first in the water and FREAKED! He hated the water from that moment forward and clung to Dominic like his life depended on it. He wouldn't let go and cried at the top of his lungs. We gave up after a couple of minutes and got him out. When Grandma tried to give him a bath the next day, he panicked again. She ended up bathing him in the kitchen sink, but he didn't like that much better. Poor kid. Thankfully, his fear of water didn't come home to our bath tub. He still loves his bath time at home.

Showing off his new suit with Dad before we put him in the tub.

Poor little guy, doesn't that fac just break your heart?

After we got him out and dried off, he was fine.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We went to Las Vegas to visit Grandma and Grandpa Speer and Uncle Monte and Aunt Cinny for Thanksgiving this year. We had a few minor mishaps (Abby lost a toenail, blood everywhere!), but it was a great weekend! Everybody was so excited to see Jacoby and he was so good all weekend. He kept everybody on their toes trying to keep up with him! He actually slept through Thanksgiving dinner, so he got leftover mashed potatoes and turkey for dinner. He loves mashed potatoes!

My son is an early riser! He woke up about quarter to 6 every morning and Mema loved playing with him in the early morning. Mema and Poppy loved bathing him and feeding him and spending as much time as they could with him before we had to go back home. Thanks everybody for a great weekend!

Jacoby was being a ham for Aunt Cinny!

Enjoying the early moring hours with Grandma!

Dinner time!

Jacoby was being a goof and having fun with Grandma and Grandpa as they tried to feed him.

Morgan and Jacoby!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of watching Morgan for a few hours while Jaime worked. Morgan instantly loved Jacoby and wanted to give him lots of hugs. Unfortunately, Jacoby was a grumpy little turkey who didn't care for her hugs at all! I learned really quick that jealousy can be a powerful emotion in toddlers and when one cries, the other is sure to follow! It was a fun experience though. I think it's good for Jacoby to be around other kids and to learn how to play and share his mom! Morgan was such a loving little girl. Jacoby won't snuggle or even let me hold him most of the time and Morgan loved being held and cuddled. I did snap a few pictures, all of them were within the first 5 minutes of Morgan being at the house. It was the only time that Jacoby actually played nice. After that, I had my hands full and the camera was put away! The pictures unfortunately didn't turn out the best, they're a little blurry.

Aww, hugs...

Morgan chased Jacoby around trying to hug him, but he scurried away as fast as he could!

This was the last picture that I was able to get. After this, Morgan decided that she wanted to hug Jacoby again and pulled him down which made him mad! He wouldn't let her near him after that and if she did get close, he instantly started to cry. He was swatting at her too! I think he's getting a temper...

Play Time at the Mall!

Dominic and I have been taking Jacoby to the mall for lunch lately because he loves to play in the play area and he loves the other kids. The play area is indoors and it's just perfect for Jacoby to crawl around on and play in. It's just a few little "sweets" for the kids to climb on, but Jacoby thinks it's great. Unfortunately, with it being so cold outside, there's not many other options for play here in Cache Valley. He gets so excited when other kids are playing. He follows them around and babbles to them. It's fun to watch him!

Grandma and Grandpa Speer's Visit

Wow, I've been kind of lazy about updating my blog lately! Sorry about that, I'll try to do better! Anyways, last weekend, Dominic's parents and Bobbi and Matt came to town to visit Jacoby for his first birthday. It was a gorgeous weekend, so we spent as much time outside as we could. It was a fun visit. Everybody held Jacoby and loved on him as much as they could since they don't get to see him very often. It was nice for me to get a little bit of a break from the everyday diaper duty and feeding times while Grandma and Bobbi took over!

Prison Break!

We mounted a gate at the top of the stairs to keep Jacoby from falling down them. He pulls himself up on everything lately, including the gate. I went outside to take the trash out, and when I came back, he was waiting for me like a poor little prisoner looking for a way out.

After that, I let him play in the front room and he pulled his "face" for me. I love this face! It looks like he's fussing in the pictures, but he's not. He scrunches up his face and makes a cute little noise to go with it.
