Sleeping baby

Both Dom and I have a weakness for holding Jacoby when he's sleeping. He very rarely will fall asleep on his belly and it's even rarer that he'll fall asleep on one of us. So, Dom was in heaven when Jacoby fell asleep on him. I just had to get the camera out, it was just too cute.

Feeding time with Jacoby

Jacoby has started pulling some of the funniest faces when he eats! Meal times are definitely more fun and I usually end up just laughing at him. I had to get the camera out and take a few pictures of some of his more interesting faces. The first picture, he's yelling. He's not in pain, I promise! He likes to squeal/yell and the look on his face is priceless, as you can see.

Red Sox Baby!

For those of you that don't know the story...


When I was pregnant, Dominic and I just couldn't really agree on a name. We discussed many many possibilities, but nothing really stuck. We were getting close to having the baby when the 2007 World Series was going on. We were watching it one night when we noticed the name of a rookie player for the Red Sox. His name was Jacoby Ellsbury and he was the only person to steal a base during the entire World Series. We both liked the name and filed it away. I ended up having Jacoby the day after the World Series ended. Right after the baby was born, Dominic ran over to me and asked if we could please name him Jacoby. It just fit (and at that point, I didn't really care!). So, he was kind of named after a baseball player for the Red Sox. Nate and Michelle had bought us a cute little Red Sox outfit for my baby shower and so we had to put him in it and take pictures.

Chewing on Toys

Jacoby isn't teething yet, but he is chewing on anything he can get in his mouth. He loves to chew on the side of his binki instead of suck on it the way he's supposed to. It's funny to watch. He also sticks toys in his mouth and then lets go and just has things dangling from his mouth. He's a little goofy...

Playing with Jacoby

I love to play with Jacoby and make him laugh. It is so rewarding to hear him squeal and giggle. He's got such a cute smile too! However, once the camera comes out, the smiles go away. He gets so enthralled by the camera and he just stares at it. He usually won't even look at us! So, I stood over him and made really goofy faces and silly noises and really got him going. My silliness paid off! I got some great smiles this time.

Mmmm....Peas

At about 4 months, we were given the go-ahead by our doctor to start feeding Jacoby solid foods. I started him with some rice cereal, but then moved to veggies. The first veggie I fed him was peas and Dominic was right there with the camera to document his first "real food" encounter. I didn't have a high chair for him yet, so I was feeding him in his swing. He wasn't quite sure if he liked peas or not, but now they're one of his favorite foods.

Jacoby's Jumper

Jacoby wouldn't put weight on his legs for the longest time. We couldn't get him to stand and if we tried, he would just fold his legs up. The doctor told us that in order to strengthen his legs, we should put him in a jumper. So, we bought the Rainforest Jumperoo and put him in it at 4 months. He was so small that he couldn't touch the floor, so we put a box under his feet. He thought it was pretty cool, but he couldn't quite grasp the whole jumping thing. The lights and the music were enough for him.
